World is soon turning into a global village. Technology has fared so great that contacting anybody in this global village is no more a dream. My friend recently moved to a place geographically very far from where I stay but of course not totally out of reach. Thanks to Internet, I am regularly in contact with her and hardly feeling the distance.

Many networking sites are now open to users. Orkut, Facebook etc being widely used. These sites are of great help to a large sector of people and I’m one among those. Through these sites I’m getting to know about friends who were difficult to be traced out. Networking sites not just help to be in contact with old friends but also helps in blooming new friends. And here comes a very major problem-Privacy. I have a number of friends in facebook I log in often. Friends are a mixture of old-whom I know and new-whom I hardly know. Sharing everything with everybody was totally a big ‘no’ for me. My prayers were answered. I wanted to share few pictures exclusively with just a group of friends. Such an option is available in facebook and other networking sites too. Facebook allows me to do such things by offering various privacy options. All this is needed because it takes just a few seconds to spread any secret over the net, it might be useful and at times might prove deadly. Though protection is being provided by networking sites its safer to be cautious.

Feelings and information can be shared but not at the cost of somebody’s discomfort.

If you are scared to travel in flights or trains thinking that your co-passenger might have been infected from a pandemic disease, then now on please be fearless to travel. Because a new detector has been invented to detect the sick traveller in flights or trains. This detector can detect the infected person by their way of coughing and it can easily find out that the person has been infected with flu virus.

This detector is likely to become global within few days. Since its a newly launched product, its yet to reach people but within few days I’m sure the aviation industry is going to welcome this product because it is in the interest of passengers‘ health. It can be fixed in the departure lounge which has a microphone that can easily detect anybody coughing and then doctors can be there to diagnose the different kinds of coughs.

This detector is invented by one of the best known biomedical companies called BIONICS. Its originated from University of Leuven which is located in Belgium.

Travelling had been a childhood passion. Photography came inevitable.  Photos in my numerous albums sparkle with memories of those wonderful and awesome places. Being an ardent lover of travelling, buying latest cameras and recorders were necessary. Nikon’s GP-1 GPS unit was something I recently caught hold of. Technology has advanced fairly to higher extent with things coming up totally to surprise us. So did this GPS unit. I was awestruck and felt it my eagerness to share with others.

Nikon’s GP-1 GPS unit can be attached to the hot shoe of Nikon or to the strap, along with an adaptor. It tags the photos by recording the altitude, latitude, longitude and time of any particular place. The photos are uploaded using software like Nikon’s ViewNX software. The GP-1 unit takes few seconds to receive the satellite signals in any place. Time varies from 45 seconds to 5 seconds. It has three light indicators; solid green implies detection of three or four signals; just green means it has detected three and the last red flashes to indicate the absence of recorded GPS satellite data.

Though it comes with a whooping cost of around $200, I have just few words to say-IT’s Worth IT!!!!!! Give a try!

APPLE UNVEILS ITUNE PASS!!

Apple has just launched a new service called Pass for its popular iTunes music store. It’s like a season pass for a favorite artist, in this case the electro band Depeche Mode. Fans who pay $18.99 for this first iTunes Pass immediately get two Depeche Mode singles, Wrong and the “Black Light Odyssey Dub Remix” of the new track Oh Well. Then, on April 21, they’ll receive Depeche Mode’s new album called Sounds of the Universe. Between now and when the pass expires in 15 weeks, fans will also receive videos, remixes and other content, some of it exclusive. All the material is automatically downloaded (in the DRM-free iTunes Plus format) into iTunes. Subscribers receive an email letting you know it’s there.

It’s worth noting that the press release announcing iTunes Pass came from EMI Music, not Apple. Before thinking this is Apple’s entree into the music subscription business, which is something Steve Jobs has pooh-poohed in the past, note that iTunes Pass is quite different.Under an all-you-can eat music subscription plan at a place such as Rhapsody, you have access to the material only as long as you keep paying a fee. With iTunes Pass, you own the content that has been downloaded, even after the pass expires.

It’s a safe bet Apple will soon extend iTunes Pass to other performers. In the release, Apple Vice President Eddy Cue says, “iTunes Pass is a great way for artists to give exclusive music and video, on their own schedule, directly to their fans. iTunes customers are going to love getting additional content directly from their favorite artists right when they make it available.”But Apple isn’t saying who those artists are, much less when the material will be available.

Apple also announced the public beta of Safari 4, which is available today for both Windows PCs and Macs. It incorporates a “Top Sites” visual preview feature, as well as the clever Cover Flow feature (for flipping through your Web history and bookmarks) that is familiar to Mac and iTunes users.I just started testing the new Safari, and it looks positive at first glance. I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve spent more time with it.

Computer networks are highly susceptible to attacks from intruders both passive and active types. And this makes the transfer of information from sender to the receiver a tough task. My friend was a latest victim of these intruders aka hackers attack. Her entire database of information was completely washed out. Though her computer was protected by an anti-virus; it did not provide her the needed security and privacy. Its then that she came across eScan 10, released by MicroWorld very recently.

She instantly jumped into purchasing of the product. Though it was just few days old, features were up-to-date promising complete protection. Simplified graphic user interface(GUI), multi-level protection abilities are few of the many notable features eScan exhibits. The beta version of this software was released in the month of November. This software is not complicated and any new user will hardly come across any difficulties while using it. My friend proudly joins such new users. Flexibility is something this eScan offers to the consumers. The various tools include anti-malware & anti-hacking techniques. It also has a real-time network activity monitor keeping in track of activities happening and also features a TCP viewer utility. My friend is finding it very much up to her needs and is happy with its performance. It’s not going to be too long before I join the group using eScan!!!!

Security has become one of the biggest challenges a common man has to face. Especially computer networks have become fragile to various security breaches. Being in a field where data privacy played a very important role, I was highly disappointed; until I found one of my colleague using D-link’s wireless adapters.

Features of these are up-to-date and to a larger extent makes the work done hassle free. It is not only compatible but also easily connected. Desktop or notebook PCs can be easily connected to the wireless network through these adapters; which helps the devices in carrying out various applications like browsing the web, email based applications and various other applications done in day to day life. D-link adapters come in various models, each model being Wi-Fi certified.

The set up for this hardware in not a tedious job. The users are guided with step by step process by the help of quick setup Wizard. This installation takes hardly few minutes and can help to get connected to the Internet. It is compatible in the sense; though these wireless adapters are of 802.11g standard, it’s not restricted with this alone; its equally backward compatible with standards such as 802.11b and many other ranges of wireless networks and routers. It provides secured data rate, protects the data and ensures high end privacy by supporting WPA and WEP encryption standards.  Adapters are with lifetime warranty and also support windows Vista. These wireless adapters are affordable ranging from about Rs 1500 to around Rs 2000(exclusive of taxes) depending on the model types.

As a whole it provides a complete package for the various necessities in the wireless side and so I never missed this opportunity of buying D-link’s Wireless adapters.

The new President of The United States gets an awesome new car designed and built with all the latest technology. The car is a limo which is been manufactured by the famous car manufacturer Cadillac. The actual name of the car is “Cadillac One” but would always be known as “obamamobile“. Cadillac has unveiled the latest sensation exclusively for the new president which can withstand rocket and chemical attacks. The cost of the car is 300,000 Pounds. It is 18 feet long and 5 feet 10 inches tall. It has got a 6.5 litre diesel engine. It’s maximum speed is sixty miles per hour. As far as the acceleration is concerned, it swifts from 0 to 60 in just 15 seconds. It travels around 8 miles for a gallon of fuel.  Designers of this car were very much particular about the security, as the the world’s most powerful person is going to use it. A fire fighting system with an oxygen supply is being installed in the boot of the car. The fuel tank is armour plated and consists of a foam which would avoid it from exploding even if it suffers a direct hit. A reinforced five inch steel plate is installed under the car’s chassis for protection in order to save the president in the event of a bomb being placed underneath the car. The car has a puncture resistant tyres with steel rims under it which would help the car to escape even if the tyres gets blasted off. Each and every part of the car is unique and would ensure security. Even doors and windows are tough enough to take bullets on it.

This limo will simply rock the whole world!!!
